Medical Facilities, in partnership with physicians, owns specialty surgical hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers in the United States. Medical Facilities’ five specialty surgical hospitals are located in Arkansas, Indiana, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. The hospitals focus on a limited number of high volume, non-emergency surgical, diagnostic, imaging, and pain management procedures as well as offer ancillary services such as urgent care and occupational health. The case mix at each hospital is a function of the clinical specialties of the physicians on the medical staff and the equipment and infrastructure at each facility. Orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures represent a large portion of the case volumes at the hospitals. Medical Facilities’ eight ambulatory surgery centers are located in Arkansas, California, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, and perform a broad range of outpatient procedures, with patient stays of less than 24 hours.
